Defending the 2nd Amendment

Defending the 2nd Amendment

Craig discusses defending the 2nd Amendment in this video. He issues his stance on President Obama’s Executive Action pertaining to gun control. Craig offers a relevant, personal example regarding guns’ impact on family safety.

“The 2nd Amendment  to the United States Constitution protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms and was adopted on December 15, 1791, as part of the first ten amendments contained in the Bill of Rights. The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that the right belongs to individuals, while also ruling that the right is not unlimited and does not prohibit all regulation of either firearms or similar devices.State and local governments are limited to the same extent as the federal government from infringing this right per the incorporation of the Bill of Rights.”

“The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.”
– Samuel Adams

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country.”
– James Madison

“Arms in the hands of citizens may be used at individual discretion in private self defense.”
– John Adams
