Actions Speak Louder than Words
This morning in church, a friend was sitting in front of me and did something that moved me…and his three kids.
During worship time we were singing: “This I believe” by Hillsong and we came to “for I believe in the name of Jesus” and my friend raised his hand showing honor and respect for God and in agreement with the lyrics we were singing. Tears immediately started to flow down my cheeks…
The reason I’m writing about this isn’t because he was the only guy raising his hand in worship. Rather, it’s because just to his right were his three kids who were watching their dad in genuine worship of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I’m going to guess the little girl was five, one of the boys was eight and the oldest around ten. They were staring at their dad…I can only imagine what was going through their minds.
Our pastor, Jack Graham has preached before that “it’s easier to build a child than to repair an adult”. So true! Our country needs more men who are “dads” and not just fathers. There is a difference. It takes time to be a dad. Kids know the difference…today, these three young kids watched their dad worshipping Jesus.
Actions speak louder than words. I was blessed today by those of my friend in church.
