Transgendered Insanity Sweeps the Nation

Last year, I was hosting a national radio show out of Washington D.C. and the subject being discussed was whether or not transgendered people should be allowed to use the restroom of their choice. An elderly lady called and said the solution is simple: “instead of having men or women signs, draw a penis and a vagina and whichever one you’ve got, that’s the restroom you use.”

I didn’t say it, this kind lady made the suggestion. Is there anything wrong with her idea?

First, please don’t tell me it’s going to hurt someone’s feelings if they are forced to use a restroom that doesn’t jive with their feelings. How about the feelings of the men/women or boys/girls who have feelings opposite the transgendered? What about their rights?

Why I believe as I do:

My belief system comes from the Bible, God’s Holy Word.

“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor idolaters…. will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, NIV.

“Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.” Leviticus 18:22, NIV.

I believe God’s anger comes against those who substitute the truth with a lie.

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness.” Romans 1:18, NIV.

“They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator…” Romans 1:25, NIV.

God expects His followers to have high standards. As a follower of Jesus, I shouldn’t be required to accept things which are against His will.

The Laws of God are greater than the laws of men.

I know how God made me and, therefore, I will continue to use the men’s room.

This battle continues in the courts:

Here’s a link to an article about the Illinois high school parents who filed a federal lawsuit yesterday.

According to the Daily Signal story, the question the parents’ legal team has asked is; Does the Department of Education have the ability to redefine sex in Title IX, to include gender ID? Title IX is federal law that bans discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program. Whether or not Title IX applies to transgendered students is an issue that has been vigorously debated, with courts ruling on both sides.

The gender identity debate is having an impact all over the country and in our culture:

On April 19th, Target department stores issued a statement saying they “welcome transgender team members and guest to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender.”

According to the American Family Association, more than 1.1 million customers joined a boycott against the nation’s second largest retailer.

Stay tuned, because this debate isn’t going away any time soon.
